Founded in 1864, the Brasserie du Général is one of the oldest restaurants in Thonon-les-Bains and has left a lasting impression on several generations of Thononais. The eldest of the establishment, daughter of the former owners, recounts that her parents took over the operation in 1930. At that time, the establishment was already named Brasserie du Général, in reference to General Dessaix, whose statue stands on the Belvédère. The history of the restaurant is closely tied to the name of this illustrious captain from Haute-Savoie. Preserving the spirit of this unique venue, steeped in tradition, culture, and local history, the Brasserie was rehabilitated and renovated from floor to ceiling in the spring of 2014. The establishment is open year-round, every day of the week. The General now watches over you!
